How to clean the fryer

Cleaning the fryer might be a tough and not very pleasant task. But if you want to remove the bad odour of old oil, you will have to brace yourself and finish with this quickly. If you leave the fryer dirty for longer time it may give the food unpleasant or strange taste.

The good news is that you will need only several simple things – water, baking soda, dish detergent, scrubber and a towel.

It is very important to know that you must not put the fryer into the sink! This may damage it.

The first step is to unplug the fryer. You also have to be sure that the oil is cool. After this you can drain the oil out but be careful not to spill it over – it will be difficult to wash the grease. We suggest you not to use the old oil again – it is good to change it every month. Fill the fryer with water and put a small amount of the detergent. It is good to leave it like that for 15 minutes. Then it will be easier for you to scrub the oil away.

In most of the cases a thin layer of oil stays and you can remove it with baking soda. Make a mix of baking soda and small amount of water – it should look like a paste.

Then rinse again with clean water.

After finishing with the washing be sure that it is completely dried. Before plugging it, dry it with the towel again. Then you can put new oil and prepare your favourite fried dish! Bon appetite!
